When Sunrisers Hyderabad played Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 15, they smashed 287 runs in 20 overs, shattering their previous record for the most runs scored in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Sunrisers Hyderabad power hitters, Travis Head (102), Abhishek Sharma (34), Heinrich Klaasen (67), Aiden Markram (32) and Abdul Samad (37), smashed 22 massive sixes and 19 boundaries during the innings.

Several records were set and shattered during the unusual match between SRH and RCB.

In the current IPL competition, the Sunrisers broke their previous record of 277 runs against the Mumbai Indians. The current score of 287 is the second-highest in T20 cricket history in addition to being the highest in IPL competitions to far.

greatest T20 score: As of right now, Nepal’s 314/3 vs Mongolia Hangzhou in 2023 stands as the greatest T20 score ever. Following this, SRH’s 287/3 is the highest, while Afghanistan’s 278/3 against Ireland in Dehradun in 2019 is the next best. In 2019 in Iflov Country, the Czech Republic scored 278/4 against Turkey, while in 2024 in Hyderabad, the SRHs scored 277/3 against the Mumbai Indians.

Highest totals in the IPL: Let’s examine the IPL statistics now. The biggest score to date for SRH was 287/3 against RCB in Bengaluru on Monday; the second-highest score of the season was 277/3 against MI in Hyderabad. Kolkata Knight Riders had the third-highest IPL score after defeating Delhi Capitals 272/7 in Vizag this season. The fifth-highest IPL total was achieved by Lucknow Super Giants in 2023, when they scored 257/7 against Punjab Kings at Mohali, while RCB had scored 263/5 against Pune Warriors in Bengaluru. Only in the 2024 IPL edition, three of the five totals above 250 have been reached.

IPL record for fastest 100s by balls faced:

Chris Gayle tops the list of IPL players with the fastest century ever struck, having done so in Bengaluru against Pune Warriors in 2013 in 30 balls. Yusuf Pathan, who performed this feat in 37 balls against MI in Mumbai in 2010, comes after him. When David Miller was playing against the Royals in Mohali in 2013, he accomplished this feat in 38 balls. Travis Head’s century in 39 balls in 2024 damaged the RCB bowling attack. Adam Gilchrist, who made a century in just 42 deliveries against the Mumbai Indians in 2008, is the one holding the fifth position.

Fastest team 200 in the IPL: SRH broke a number of records, including the fastest team 200 in the IPL. The fastest team to reach 200 runs was RCB, who accomplished it in 14.1 overs in a 2016 Bengaluru match against PBKS. It was a 15-over match, though.

In their most recent performance, SRH scored the fastest 200 runs in 14.4 overs against MI in Bengaluru in 2024. In the same year, Sunrisers again defeated RCB in Bengaluru in 14.6 overs. The KKR batsmen struck in 15.2 overs at Vizag in 2024 against the Delhi Capitals to record the fourth-fastest 200.

The record for most sixes in an IPL innings seems to go on forever, as SRH’s hitters crushed 22 sixes against RCB in Bengaluru in 2024, while RCB’s batsmen took second place with 21 sixes against Pune Warriors in Bengaluru in 2013. In 2016, the RCB batsmen replicated their feat in Bengaluru, where they struck twenty sixes against the Gujarat Lions (GL). While MI’s batters struck 20 sixes against SRH in Hyderabad in 2024, Delhi Capitals stars blasted 20 sixes against GL in Delhi in 2017.

Most expensive figures in the IPL: It was a record-breaking day for both batters and bowlers. Basil Thampi’s 70 runs without a wicket against the RCB in Bengaluru in 2018 ranks top when comparing the most expensive IPL figures. Afterwards, in a 2023 match between KKR and Ahmedabad, Yash Dayal conceded 69 runs. The RCB’s Reece Topley conceded 68 runs to the SRH in Bengaluru today.

Four bowlers from the same team conceded more than fifty runs in an inning for the first time. Yash Dayal gave up 51, Lockie Ferguson gave up 52, and Vijaykumar Vyshak gave up 64 runs. R Topley of the RCB gave up 68 runs.
