CUET UG 2024: NTA reschedules the exam for May 15 in Delhi. Exam date for CUET UG 2024 was originally set for May 15, however NTA stated today that it will now take place on May 29.

CUET UG 2024: Owing to “manpower issues,” the National Testing Agency (NTA) decided to postpone the Common University Entrance Test, Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024 for Delhi.
“All concerned candidates and stakeholders are hereby informed that the test papers (Chemistry-306, Biology-304, English-101, and General Test-501) that were previously scheduled for May 15, 2024, have been postponed for candidates appearing in centers only in Delhi due to unavoidable circumstances. The exam date has been moved to May 29, 2024. Candidates appearing in centers throughout Delhi will receive updated admit cards, the NTA stated in a formal announcement.

This postponement occurs just hours before the exam, scheduled for May 15, opens at exam centers nationwide. The NTA asserts that the ongoing Lok Sabha elections are to blame for the personnel shortage that led to this postponement. “CUET UG is conducted on a big scale, and invigilators are deployed together with various exam centers that we have chosen for this process. However, because of the impending Lok Sabha elections, we were having trouble finding enough invigilators in Delhi exam centers for the exam scheduled for May 15. Accordingly, NTA has decided to hold the exam on May 15 following the election, or on May 29, an NTA representative informed worldsnewspepper.com.

The exam set for May 15 will, however, proceed in all other locations in the nation (such as Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Noida) and overseas, in accordance with the previously announced schedule. Additional exams slated for May 16, 17, and 18 will take place on time at all venues, including the Delhi centers.

The NTA recently released the CUET UG 2024 admission cards on May 13. But, the NTA sent out a second notice in the evening asking candidates to download their hall passes no later than May 14 evening. According to an official announcement from NTA, “Candidates are advised to download the admit card on May 14th Evening so that any changes in the Examination Center due to administrative reasons may be reflected in the admit card.”

Approximately 13.48 lakh students will sit for the CUET UG between May 15 and 24, with exam dates spread across 380 cities, including 26 places outside of India. tests will be administered pen and paper between May 15 and May 18, however online testing will be used for the remaining tests until May 24.

The NTA also reaffirmed that candidates receive their preliminary CUET admit cards only after meeting the qualifying requirements, and they reminded students that these hall passes will not be delivered by mail.

Students were also cautioned by the Agency not to damage the admit cards in any way. The notification said, “Candidates are advised to preserve a copy of their Admit Card in good condition for future reference.”

If applicants encounter any issues downloading the Admit Card or find errors in the information on it, they can email NTA at cuet-ug@nta.ac.in or call the NTA Help Desk at 011-40759000.

Over the years, a number of governments have attempted to lessen the load on those aspiring to higher education by substituting a single entrance exam for many ones. Indeed, even CUET is not brand-new. When the UPA-II administration introduced it in 2010 as the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), just 14 central universities had taken it up until the previous year, which prevented it from gaining traction.
