Clear transfer plans won’t be formed by Manchester United takeover until the team knows exactly who will be at the team the next season. Prying Dan Ashworth away from Newcastle United has proven to be difficult, but he is expected to become United’s sporting director. Jason Wilcox, who left Southampton to become United’s technical director effective immediately, is at least on board now.
Omar Berrada has already agreed to join from Manchester City as the new CEO, and United has appointed seasoned professionals to key roles. After a dismal campaign, Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, is clinging to his position, and a big decision is about to come. Although a few names have already been named, United’s top targets for the summer transfer season are undoubtedly still being determined.
Baylee Dipepa, a Manchester United target, was demoted
While supporters will like to see major additions, it is thought that United is aiming to acquire an EFL young player this summer. According to reports from March, United was in the lead to sign Port Vale teenager Baylee Dipepa.
This season, Dipepa has made a breakthrough into the Port Vale team and has already scored three goals for the England Under-17 team in three games.Former Port Vale director of football David Flitcroft called the teenage forward a “exciting talent” because of his true potential.
Just last weekend, Dipepa scored an incredible goal against Exeter City, waltzing past several defenders before reaching the back of the net. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to keep Port Vale in League One, and on Saturday, a 2-0 loss at Bolton Wanderers confirmed their relegation to League Two.
Dipepa will now play in the fourth division, although United might feel that a deal needs to be made after Port Vale’s relegation.
Due to the relegation, Vale will lose money, and United may even attempt to sign Dipepa for less than initially anticipated.
Using Ineos to focus on prospects
According to the Dipepa rumors, Ineos had told United scouts to stay up to date on the best young English players available.
Going forward, it appears that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos want to ensure that United is at least considered for domestic talent.
Ineos will want to ensure that the trend of elite players joining Premier League opponents doesn’t continue, as too many have done recently.
Dipepa might be a good fit, and United will be well aware of Port Vale’s circumstances following their loss on Saturday.
In recent months, talents like Michael Olise, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have been discussed; however, United may also concentrate on younger players like Dipepa.
